Use case

Thumbnails and social images should not mean opening another app. You describe the image, or you hand over pictures to edit or combine, and the file comes back in Telegram with a timestamped name.

What to connect

A Gemini API key with image generation enabled (the Nano Banana image AI models). Telegram, so the file can be delivered and the local copy removed.

Setup

  1. Set GEMINI_API_KEY in the environment and IMAGE_MODEL to the image AI model you want. Confirm one test prompt returns a file.
  2. Set OUTPUT_DIR to a folder outside the git repo.
  3. Save the prompt as image-gen.
  4. Generate one image, confirm it arrives in Telegram as a file, and confirm the local copy is deleted after the send succeeds.

Edit before you send: The image model id, the output folder, and the default resolution.

Save this as a skill named image-gen. Use the Gemini image API (Nano Banana) with [IMAGE MODEL]. I can ask you to: - Create an image from a text prompt. - Edit an image I attach. - Compose up to 14 source images into one result, when the API allows that many. - Request a resolution up to 4K when the model supports it. If it does not, use the largest size it does support and say so. Save the file under [OUTPUT DIR] with a UTC timestamp in the name. Send the file itself in Telegram. After the send succeeds, delete the local file. If the send fails, keep the file and tell me the path. Use this for thumbnails, social posts, and other visual assets I ask for. Do not generate an image I did not ask for.
